I have no quarrel with the
founder of the Dell Corporation, Michael Dell, i believe that he is a visionary
and i have great respect for people not afraid to risk it and beat the odds.
That being said, what i do hate about Dell are their business practices. In some
instances they are jus t like any other large corporation or most other PC
manufacturers. The thing that pisses me off the most about these companies are
their underhanded tactics and greed.
For instance, dell
manufacturers a quite sleek looking pc with some nice add-ons for a good price,
but the money that they lose these to cheap prices is quickly recouped when your
pc needs to be repaired or upgraded. Because if 5 yrs after buying your dell you
decide to upgrade you probably wont be able to, why? because the dell case is
made to only fit a dell partner motherboard. Where then do you get the upgraded
motherboard?. that's right, you must buy it through dell. So instead of just
waltzing into any computer parts store and buying an ATX motherboard you must
now go to dell. com and buy one which is going to cost more than at the store.
Another thing that gets me
about this greedy corporation is the fucking way they get into everyone's homes.
All these novice computer users all buy a dell because they get the lid pulled
over their eyes and are attracted by the barrage of dell ads on TV.
Most dell computers
manufactured after 1998 do not conform to the standard ATX power supply. Instead
Dell has shipped these systems with their own proprietary version of an ATX
Power supply, not only having a rewired ATX connector but the internal
electronics are also different, so if you power supply goes bad what do you now
have to do? That's right---Go to fucking dell.
